22nd
World Scout Jamboree 2011
Four Thomian
scouts represented Sri Lanka at the recently concluded
World Scout Jamboree from our school. This was held in
the deep southern part of Sweden, in the city called
Rinkaby from the 27th of July to the 07th
of August 2011.
It was a great
experience for all the scouts as this was an
opportunity to meet people and interact with them from
around the world. The Sri Lankan contingent which
travelled comprised of 122 members (Including
Instructors) being the 3rd highest number
of participants in the Asia Pacific region. They first
travelled to Frankfurt, from where they travelled to
Sweden in a coach passing Denmark. The contingent
leader was Mr. Janaprith Fernando.
At the
Jamboree there were various items to make bonds with
the fellow scouts and guides from other countries. One
such event was the Cultural Day where each country
showcased there diverse cultures in the form of food,
dances, music etc. The photo was a photo which was
taken on this occasion.
The 4 Thomians
who represented our country were:
S.C.
Gajanayaka
N.J.
Bulathsinghala
D.G.D. Colonne
T.S. Rajan
