National Age Group Relay

The Swimmers from S. Thomas College, Mt Lavinia became overall Boys champions at the Age Group Relay Championships 2009 after a lapse of 7 years. This was conducted by the Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union and was held at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

Thomians collected 154 points to take the boys title while last years champions St. Joseph's college finished second with 124 points and Ananda college third with 107 points. The Thomaian Junior team collected 91 points while the Senior STC team collected the balance 63 points.

Sri Lanka Schools’ Swimming Championship 2009

The Sri Lanka Schools’ Swimming Championship 2009 was held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Swimming Pool from 11th June to 14th June 2009. St. Thomas ’s College Junior Swimming Team became the Overall Junior Champions for the 2nd consecutive year with a score of 131 Points and St. Joseph ’s College came in Second with 111 points. In the senior championships, S.J.C came in 1st with 328 points, and S.T.C Senior team became 4th with 188 points. In the Overall Junior and Senior championships, St. Josephs College came in first with 459 points and Ananda College second with 345 points and S. Thomas College came third with 319 points.
